W4 - Mar 15

Dear, parents.

Please find the new communication page, plus the scope (details) of the first exam, and the link to this weeks VW on Quizlet.

The weekly test seemed to go very well for most students. If your child is getting less than 10/23 please tell them to focus more in class. Especially, when we do the 2 review worksheets.
FYI it's okay to put their hands up and ask questions if they are struggling. However, I cannot give them the answers, that would be cheating. Can parents please make sure students understand.

In the afternoon the class seemed very tired. I switched my class up a little and sparked their interest about 'Long ago' by discussing video games from the 80s VS games now. They really enjoyed this lesson and there was a big difference with their participation and enthusiasm. We also tried some creative writing where students needed to introduce their favorite game. Below is the best creative writing example. 🙏🤍
P.s I will always give them advice and correction during the class, however I will never correct their creative writing pieces. The point is to get them to enjoy writing, not correct or scold them for a few mistakes. Creative writing sheets will always look like this and students will always take them home on the same day they wrote it.

Dear, parents.  Please find the communication book copy below. I edited it and tried to make it easier to understand. I'm not sure why I was given a file that didn't look exactly like the communication book. Anyway, I edited it so students will not be confused anymore.  As for homework, students should always  read the story in their own time during the week. Students will copy VW words everyday, and read a weekly conversations each day. On the Thursday and Friday students should review for the test. This may mean having a mocktest to review, although I am happy with the results from my first weekly test. Therefore, I will not provide a mocktest for this coming weekly test.  Students took my weekly test this morning and I am happy to say that 13 students scored 100%, 11 students scored over 70%, and 1 student scored less than 70%.  I am very proud of them all. I can clearly see their drive to learn and improve.  That being said, I do...

Dear, parents. Today we covered some Wonders, although students told me some pages were already finished.  We did the first two pages no problem. However, when we came to the last two, it was already filled out. I'm not sure why, and will try work that out tomorrow.  Today we had experience class, which seemed to go okay. Students seem to enjoy learning about Africa art patterns and making their paperplate necklaces. The only issue was with some students standing up and  walking around instead of working on their own project. I repeatedly asked them to wait until break and go back to their seats. Sadly, I eventually shouted to tell them to sit down. This worked, but I don't feel comfortable having to raise my voice so much for a few students who wouldn't follow the rule. Please encourage your children to listen, learn, and respect. Students were sent home with a mocktest. I covered the material during the class, so they should be able to complete i...
